Aligner Course

This post is about our last aligner course in February 2023... and the release of the next course date for November 2023 (book here!).

Our course in February was the inaugural Orthodontia event. This was held at the excellent Hyatt Regency hotel in Manchester, a convenient location adjacent to the University of Manchester, the perfect backdrop for all the learning we have planned for our delegates. Check out the feedback from our delegates here.

As promised, we kept the numbers very small. This allowed to use the hotel's amazing Club Lounge, a beautiful and relaxed space where we could all engage, discuss and learn over 2 amazing days. Having small numbers also meant that all delegates had plenty of time to ask questions, have plenty of attention and even discuss some cases.

The tea and coffee flowed freely all day, and the 3 course meal offering from the hotel suited all tastes and diets, as did the much-needed snacks to keep the brains ticking over.

Day 1 of the course was full of theoretical leaning of the essentials of orthodontics, from assessment and diagnosis to understanding the biomechanics of how aligners work and move teeth effectively. There was a hands-on session for delegates to practice their new assessment skills and early discussion around how to develop treatment plans for patients.

Day 2 continued the learning around developing effective aligner plans, staging treatment and having an efficient and effective patient journey. This led naturally to a discussion about retainers, followed by a hands-on session for the chair-side direct bonded retainer technique, something which everyone really enjoyed.

The course was really enjoyable, and as much as we taught to the delegates, we learnt about how to make the next one even better, with more knowledge, more practical components and even more fun! You can book the next course here
